“I have had the pleasure of being introduced to Lucie Sivier-Voller's artwork when she submitted to our Summer Exhibition 2023. Our Summer Exhibition is fiercely competitive with over 1,900 entries this year but Lucie's work really stood out to the judging body made up of Holly Frean, internationally renowned artist, Mary Miller, former director of Marlborough Fine Art and Catrin Treadwell, former BBC World Service Presenter and patron of the arts. They all remarked on the maturity of the artwork as "Un Danseur" displays an enormous amount of skill. A great artwork is often in the information left out rather than included and Lucie's use of space and controlled mark making with the necessary information gives such an air of strength combined with gentleness. Sandra de Laszlo, founder of the de Laszlo Foundation, found it enchanting and also remarked on the quality of Lucie's work, so you can imagine all our surprise to learn that Lucie has accomplished this at only 18 years old. As our youngest artist included in this show I am excited to follow Lucie's career as I'm sure she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her. I am pleased to learn she will be attending the prestigious Camberwell College of Arts in September and hopefully we will be seeing a lot more of her in the future." (2023)
